Lead Veterinary Assistant

McKenzee Drenker

McKenzee Drenker was born and raised in Burley, ID. Growing up she knew she wanted to work with animals. She grew up with dogs, cats, geckos, horses, cows, and hamsters. She wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she could remember, but when she reached college her passion grew stronger for becoming a zookeeper.

McKenzee graduated from Burley High School in 2012. From there she went on to study at Utah State University, where she received a B.S. in Wildlife Science in 2016. She worked at Yellowstone Bear World, working with bears, and Utah’s Hogle Zoo, working with an assortment of species, before moving to Kansas. She moved to Kansas for a full-time zookeeper position, but after 2 years working in a zoo her passion shifted back towards veterinary medicine. In her spare time, McKenzee enjoys Irish Dancing, adventuring outside, hanging out with her bird, and spending time with friends and family.
