I am from the desert of Tucson Arizona where I spent lots of my time catching all kinds of critters, reptiles, bugs, and collecting bones. All of my family members always had a dog or two when I was growing up and I could never picture a life without a pet. A close friend of my grandmothers was a large animal Veterinarian and worked closely with show dogs and horses. She quickly became someone I looked up to at a young age. After I graduated high school, I moved to Denver Colorado to pursue my career as a veterinary technician and went to school at Bel-Rea School for Veterinary Technology. There I started at an Emergency and Specialty Vet, which launched my 7-year long career as an ER technician. There, I acquired many new pets, fosters, and skills, which helped me tremendously as a new technician. Today, I am still working part time at Veterinary Emergency in Wichita, but chose to settle in at a smaller, general practice clinic. Here, I am able to see familiar faces and pets on a daily and work closely with healthy and happy pets. I currently still have my two cat babies, an elderly tabby angel named Grandma Luna, whom I have had since high school, and a mini panther baby named Binx. When I am not at work, I spend much of my free time reading with my cats or walking around the city, while occasionally still catching some bugs and adding to my bone collection.
